Most-SK company (Moscow, Russia) is a system integrator in food and grain processing industry, as well as in agriculture. Most-SK develops multi-component grain (combined feed) dosing systems. Since 2003, Most-SK is an official system integrator of AdAstra Research Group Ltd.
In 1994, Most-SK engineers used the integrated SCADA HMI and SOFTLOGIC systems TRACE MODE for the first time. They implement it in control system at one of the most advanced Russian combined feed manufacturers in Magnitogorsk. The company managers had great confidence when choosing SCADA for automating food industry and agriculture enterprises, since no other SCADA HMI systems could compete with TRACE MODE, which had won by better pricing and quality balance.
In 2000, Most-SK deployed a unique automated complex of continuous combined feed preparation at Vorsmensk battery farm, one of the finest Russian enterprises of this type. The complex included 18 continuous strain proportioners for grain and liquid combined feed, the finished product scales with 5-ton capacity, 12 transportation and technology equipment units.

This control system used TRACE MODE for both SCADA HMI level and PLC programming level. The seamless, consistent software operation ensured there would be no interruption of combined feed gavage to almost half a million of poultry. In 2003, the battery farm successfully upgraded their control system to a new SCADA HMI TRACE MODE version.
The battery farm managers presume that the complex helped cut costs by 1 million roubles (about $ 300 000) per year, while significantly raising the quality of combined feed and efficiency of feeding.
In 2002, the integrated TRACE MODE SCADA HMI and SOFTLOGIC system helped to automate the combined feed manufacturing shop at Yasenetsk Battery Farm. The Most-SK specialists successfully deploed the new control system. Due to the knowldege acquired in the previous project, the time for designing of this comprehensive program complex including replicable program modules, human interface (HMI) objects and FBD program blocks was reduced till 2 month.
The SCADA TRACE MODE based control system fulfills the following:
- maintaining a database of combined feed recipes with over 20 componenets;
- controlling differential & variable speed proportioners of combined feed;
- double-circuit PID-PWM control with a runtime module model;
- programmable and logical control of specific battery farm units, as well as serial and branch unit installations;
- status indication for controlled combined feed facilities;
- batch selective control mode change at equipment groups and physical signal input/output modes;
- automated real-time calibration of analog channels;
- mathematic modelling of the full process cycle for combined feed manufactured at the battery farm;
- automatic generating of the array containing data on combined feed components consumption enabling import into MS Excel.
B.A.Shtitelman, the Most-SK company Technical Director said: "With the advanced AdAstrA SCADA tools, we are now ready for vurtually solving any task!"
And Most-St successfully takes every chance to prove this.
In 2003, Most-SK deployed the "IZKORM-1" control system for preparation of grain premixes at combined feed plant IZKORM. The system employs 1 SCADA TRACE MODE run time module for 512 I/O and Micro TRACE MODE.
The positive experience of deploying TRACE MODE SCADA HMI for the control systems for battery farms has proved that defferent processes, which traditionally considered to be difficult to automate, can now be easily and quickly equipped with a modern control system. All the above control systems ensured return of investment (ROI) within 1-year of operation.
